3 Simple Steps

After you've purchased your vehicle:

We will contact you as soon as we have all your original paperwork from the dealership, which is usually 2-3 weeks after your purchase date. Your dealer will provide you with a temporary permit upon drive away for the time being. Once we receive and review your documents, you’ll receive an email from MMREGSERVICE2@GMAIL.COM with all further instructions needed to complete your CA registration. Sometimes this email does end up in the Spam folder so just be on the lookout for it in all inboxes. If customer does not respond to our email, we will follow up with a call as well. After you receive our email with instructions: 

Please read through carefully and send us the items as instructed. We know time is of the essence before your temp expires, so the sooner you send us what's needed, the sooner we can get you completed~ As for the 20-day deadline, that countdown begins from whichever date you get the Smog or Verification done first. They can be done in either order, but we must receive it all within 20 days after getting done to avoid penalties. Please see FAQs or reply to our email with any further questions/updates.

After you send us everything:

All mail is processed in the order as received. Once we have all required items, it typically takes 2-4 business days to complete your registration. At that point, we will send a confirmation email letting you know plates, tags, and registration have been mailed to you! All mail is sent via USPS with tracking. (Please see FAQs for more info)

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The temporary permit the dealer issued should allot for the time being. We are unable to advise on what is needed (fees, etc.) until we receive/review your paperwork. However, if the dealership told you what items are needed (such as smog, etc) you can start doing those items and mail the originals to us. Either way we will email you with all instructions once we have you in our system.

  • CA Vehicle Verification - ORIGINAL FORM MUST BE MAILED, NOT SCANNED. This is a physical inspection and can be done for free at any CA DMV without an appointment, or you can pay a small fee for a private verifier near you. DMV or verifier will provide the completed form. (DO NOT SIGN OR A NEW FORM WILL BE REQUIRED)

    A vehicle verification is the same thing as a free VIN inspection at any California DMV. Most times you don’t even have to go inside, nor do you need an appointment. Usually there’s an outdoor area where you just pull your vehicle up and an agent will come check your vin numbers, then they will provide the form and that is the original form you must mail to us. Should you need to go inside at all, you do not need to wait in their lines, simply ask for a verifier who can provide the inspection/form for you. You do not need to fill out any paperwork or pay them any fees as we already have all required documents from the dealership to register your vehicle. ONLY THE VERIFIER SIGNS THE FORM. YOU AS THE CUSTOMER DO NOT SIGN IT, or a new form will be required.

  • Any process started at the DMV will remain as incomplete. Since the dealer sends us all of the original documents along with the sales tax check for the state of California you will be unable to complete your registration at the DMV. We are DMV business partners which allows us to print registration cards and assign your plates in house. I can assure you, we have a quick turnaround time as long as we receive everything from customer in a timely manner.

  • If you've already paid fees at the DMV, we'll need you to mail us a copy of that receipt showing fees paid, along with the items stated in your email. If there was a discrepancy in your payment, we'll advise on any remaining balance or possible reimbursement.

  • The amount owed is strictly for CA registration fees or CA sales tax that were not included at the time of your purchase. We do not charge customers any fees for our services.

  • ALL new/used cars entering CA from another state require a California smog certificate, unless vehicle is 100% ELECTRIC. Please note that the electronic copy sent to the DMV does not apply to us, which is why we need a copy for our own records.

  • Once registration is completed, it'll be updated through the CA database. We'll mail you the printed copy of registration with plates and tags. Title is sent separately, as it'll come from Sacramento and can take up to 5 weeks to receive. Title will be sent directly to Lien Holder, unless the vehicle is paid off then Title would be sent straight to you.

  • Since we do receive high volumes of mail daily, our staff will immediately check to see if we have received all required items from the customer, and then we process accordingly. Please be sure any fees owed are paid before we receive your mail to avoid delays. We confirm receipt of payment via email when customers let us know their choice of payment method. Once all is received, it typically takes 2-4 business days to process. At that point, we’ll email you confirmation letting you know plates, tags, and registration have been mailed to you via USPS.

  • No, we do need the ORIGINAL vehicle verification form to complete your registration. You are welcome to make a copy for yourself, but you'll need to MAIL us the Original form. DO NOT SIGN the bottom or a new form will be required! Only the verifier is to sign it.

  • If you want to avoid the DMV, you can google “private vehicle verifier near me”. Their fees vary. Or we can assist in finding one for you.

  • Your email may ask a question about the weight of your vehicle, please reply with your answer so that we can provide the correct sticker needed. If a weight certificate is requested, you'll need to mail the original to us before we can complete your registration.

  • Phone lines are open 8am-2pm pacific from Monday-Thursday, and 8am-12pm on Fridays. Closed weekends and holidays. If you get our voicemail, we are either closed or on the other line. Please leave your full name, last 6 of your VIN numbers, reasons for calling, and we will call you back!

  • Unfortunately, no. We only issue standard plates. You may order custom/personalized plates through the DMV’s website, but please do not begin that process until AFTER we complete your registration, to avoid any delays.

  • Yes! Please just respond to our email with a picture of the plates you wish to transfer, we’ll send you a Reg17 transfer form (this form can also be found on CA DMV’s website) you’ll need to mail that original form to us. There will also be a transfer fee but we’ll advise on that amount after we receive all original paperwork from you.

  • Please reply to our email and confirm the address you'd like us to send your mail.

  • If we have not received your paperwork from the dealer, reach out to the dealer for another 15 day permit; otherwise we will assist you to expedite your process!

Get In Touch

  • Sending through regular mail is fine, however most customers send us their items through Certified Mail, that way you have a tracking number to know when we receive it. Please be patient as we do receive a high level of mail/payments daily, and we process in the order as received. If you've sent paperwork but haven't paid, or vice versa, then we'll hold it until we receive everything in full. Once we do have everything that was needed from you, it can take up to 1-3 business days to be completed~ at that point you will receive an email confirmation letting you know we have mailed out your Registration, Plates, and Tags out to you through USPS with tracking.

How to pay fees:

If there is a remaining balance for registration fees or sales tax that were not included at the time of your purchase, you may submit payment using one of the following options: (No debit/credit cards or personal checks) 

(We pay fees directly to the DMV on your behalf. If you prefer to send a check payable to DMV we can process it at the DMV, however, the turnaround time at DMV can take up to 10-15 working days. If payable to M&M we can process in-house within 2-4 working days.) 

* Cashier's Check or Money Order payable to M & M Registration.

*For larger amounts we can provide you with our direct bank wire information, upon request- Bank Wire fees charge a $15 fee so please add that to your total.
